This afternoon all Labor Senators voted against a motion supporting the Prime Minister’s position on the sale of Uranium to India.

“Labor Senators had the opportunity to support Australia’s economy, security and the environment and their own Prime Minister but they chose to vote it down.”

“This afternoon Labor Senators will have the opportunity to back Australia’s economy, security and the environment and their Prime Minister when I move a motion calling on the ALP National Conference to approve the sale of Australian uranium to India,” Senator Abetz said.

“Once again the Green Labor alliance has guillotined 4 Bills in the Senate this evening and in doing so the business of the Senate descended into a farce,” Senator Abetz said.

“The Green Labor Alliance who pride themselves on Parliamentary scrutiny, have this evening ensured that 4 Bills faced the guillotine in the Senate, rammed through without a single word of debate,” Senator Abetz said.
