A vote for the Greens is really a vote for Labor and a vote for Labor is really a vote for the Greens

“Today’s announcement by Greens Leader Bob Brown that he has struck a preference deal with Labor confirms what we always suspected,” Senator Abetz said today.

“A vote for the Greens is really a vote for Labor and a vote for Labor is really a vote for the Greens.”

“Tasmanians need look no further that the debacle that now exists following a similar deal that was dishonestly struck between Labor and the Greens during the recent State election.”

Labor and the Greens have sold out the forest industry and the jobs of timber workers and the backroom deal done by the Greens has the potential to further undermine confidence in Tasmania,” said Senator Abetz.

“On August the 21st Tasmanians must ask: Do we really want a carbon copy of the Tasmanian ‘Laboreens’  in Canberra as well?”

“This dishonest ‘Laboreens’ Coalition in Tasmania should not be inflicted on all Australians but if Senator Bob Brown and Ms Gillard have their way the Green tail will wag the Labor dog as it is already doing in Tasmania,” said Senator Abetz.

“Any Tasmanian, concerned about the cost of living, their job security and the wasteful spending, has only one choice – The Liberal Party.”
