Senate Opposition Leader, Eric Abetz, today assured Tasmanians that the Cascade brewery would stay in South Hobart.

"Senator Christine Milne's claim that it is somehow under threat is simply shameless scare-mongering," Senator Abetz said today.

"My office this morning confirmed with Fosters that Cascade is a successful and iconic brand which will attract more investment and marketing as a result of this takeover."

"In short, Cascade is here to stay."

"The Greens are masters at pretending to save things which don't need saving." 

"Here they are claiming they will "work to ensure" the Cascade brewery remains in South Hobart, "generating jobs for Tasmanians" when there is absolutely no threat," Senator Abetz said.
