Greens – All Stunt and No Common Sense
Once again the Greens have shown their true colours in attempting to hijack the business of the Senate by trying to force through debate on the amendment to the Prohibition for support for Whaling Bill 2010.
Whilst I support the amendments in general terms there is a time and a place for debate on this issue and the Greens should not be allowed to dictate the business of the Senate just because it fits their so called Green agenda.
This is another example why the Greens should never be allowed to control the Senate, or for that matter to ever have control of the Tasmanian Parliament.
Senator Brown expels a great deal of hot air when talking to the media at Senate doors on the way into the Parliament each morning about how the Senate needs to get on with it's business in a timely manner yet here he is today attempting to manipulate the order of business for his own Green agenda.
Senator Brown and the Greens have a track record for attempting to manipulate the business of the Senate.
In August last year the Senate was attempting to debate the extremely serious issue of the Enhanced child Protection from Predatory tourism Offences Bill and Senator Brown and the Greens voted against giving this very important issue precedence.
Senator Brown and the Greens would seek to protect whales as a more important issue than protecting children from predatory tourism.
I can assure Senator Brown that in the real world protecting the rights of innocent children from the abhorrent practice of so-called child sex tourism takes precedence over protecting whales any day!
