Greens Support for CFMEU

It seems to be payback time for the CFMEU for the tens of thousands of dollars donated by them to the Greens.

The Greens are now throwing their support behind the CFMEU’s campaign to abolish the Australian Building and Construction Commission.

It’s all very well for the Greens to pontificate about the rights of workers who face legal action due to their failure to adhere to the laws of the land, but we all know, with the Greens, it’s all about the money.

The CFMEU is one of the biggest single donors to the Greens and no matter how hard Senator Brown tries to put some sort of bleeding heart spin on this being all about the rights of workers; it’s really all about pay back for those who bankroll his party.

It apparently doesn’t faze Senator Brown that the CFMEU has been branded as one of the most militant unions in Australia and has been found guilty of unlawful behavior on a number of occasions.

The Australian Building and Construction Commission is the only body standing between militant unions, industrial anarchy and a fair go for workers and Australian employers.

Senator Brown’s statement that the Australian Greens stand for one law for all workers is hypocritical. He is happy to support unlawful protests against the timber industry but won’t stand up for timber workers whose livelihoods he seeks to destroy.

The current laws apply to all workers and employers equally and similarly anyone who breaks the law will be, and should be, dealt with equally.
