The fact that Ms Gillard has been forced to introduce regulations to protect workers’ take home pay is a clear admission of failure of her modern award process which has left tens of thousands of Australian workers worse off.

This is in direct breach of her election promise that no Australian worker would be worse off.

No Australian worker should be reduced to having to go to Julia Gillard’s Fair Work Tribunal to simply claim that which is already rightfully theirs but for Julia Gillard changing the laws.

Had Julia Gillard not rushed the process she could have guaranteed workers entitlements without the need to force them to go cap in hand to Ms Gillard’s Tribunal for wage justice.

This latest debacle comes on top of Ms Gillard’s Building the Education Revolution debacle and lack-of-training debacle with the Pink Batts fiasco.

Every area of her Ministerial responsibility has been marred by excessive haste and incompetent administration.

Today’s acknowledgment that tens of thousands of workers are worse off, courtesy of Ms Gillard's new laws, should be exciting the interest of an ACTU advertising campaign against Labor rather than their ill-considered ongoing campaign against the Coalition’s yet to be announced policies.
