Kevin Rudd has been caught out by his own trickiness.
"You will recall that Tony Abbott asked the Prime Minister whether or not any worker would be worse off and whether the Prime Minister had made a promise on the 20th of March 2008 that no worker would be worse off under his legislation."
"The Prime Minister responded by saying that was a tricky question and any honest approach would have to be based on the legislation that was before the Parliament at the time and then tried to dismiss it as transitional legislation."
"Those of us who have researched the matter, and this was confirmed late last night at Senate estimates, the actual legislation that was before the Parliament at the time was the legislation that introduced Modern Awards which has left thousands of Australian workers worse off and therefore the Prime Minister's reliance on that legislation exposes him as engaging in trickiness because it is that legislation which has left nurses worse off, club workers worse off, Mathew Spencer in western Victoria worse off."
"The Prime Minister has to come back into the Parliament and explain himself as to how he was able to explain his way out of it when the facts speak for themselves, this was the legislation that has left thousands of workers worse off."
