Labor's $10,000,000.00 Gift to Union Mates

Labor’s big taxing, big spending budget has been given the ‘big tick’ by unions and it is no surprise why.

Buried in Labor’s budget papers is a $10 million dollar “grant” to a so-called “Trade Union Education Foundation” to fund union bosses and their efforts to campaign for Labor at the forthcoming election.

“This is nothing more than an outright and blatant gift to Labor’s election financiers” said Senator Eric Abetz, Shadow Minister for Employment & Workplace Relations.

“This budget has delivered Australia the second highest ever budget deficit since WW II, yet Labor still believes that a $10 million donation to unions, by borrowing money, will be acceptable to Australians.

“I am sure that Australians would prefer to have seen this huge amount of money spent on worthy causes, like roads, or to tackle crime.

“Instead, Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard think that the best use of Australia’s taxes is to donate them to their old union mates.

“Australians will not be happy to learn that they are paying for union bosses to help their re-election chances.”
