Labor's Spin doesn't Match the Substance
Workplace Relations Minister Julia Gillard refuses to intervene on behalf of workers who have lost out because of Labor’s Award Modernisation scheme.
The Minister refuses to listen to small business, refuses to listen to employees, refuses to listen to the individual concerns of unions and now she has chosen to ignore the concerns of the union’s peak body, the ACTU.
Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd promised that no worker would be worse off and clearly this is not the case.
The ACTU, which ironically bankrolled Labor at the 2007 election, has finally woken up to the fact that Labor has betrayed the trust of the very people that it promised to support, the Australian worker.
ACTU secretary Jeff Lawrence says Labor’s Award modernisation process has “led to many disappointing decisions for low-paid workers”.
Today’s reports that aged care nurses stand to lose $300 a week and workers employed in the Registered Clubs industry face wage cuts of up to $130 per week highlights the savage cuts workers face under Labor.
Ms Gillard says it’s not her problem, just like Labor’s failed Pink Batt program Labor continues to deny that anything they have done is ever their problem.
Labor is all talk and no action, they promise this and they promise that but deliver nothing and no amount of spin by Ms Gillard and Mr Rudd can disguise the fact nothing Labor says is ever matched by any substance.
