Overeem Whisky Launched

Tasmania’s latest whisky – Overeem Whisky – produced by the OLD Hobart Distillery was launched tonight.
Senator Eric Abetz, in officiating, praised the dedication, commitment and patience of Casey Overeem, the whisky’s maker.
“This has been twenty five years in the making - from getting the idea on a visit to Norway in 1987 to its release in 2011.”
“We have seen a wonderful display of attention to detail, patience and commitment, which has resulted in a quality Tasmanian product.”
“Tasmanian grown barley and its pure water are part of the secret to this premium product.”
“Distilled and matured in the Kingborough Municipality, this is a business with huge potential to reinforce Tasmania’s reputation as a world class whisky maker,” Senator Abetz said.
