Promises Promises - We've heard it all before, Julia
We all appear to be having a déjà vu moment today following Julia Gillard’s statement that “no school will be worse off” under her review of the schools funding formula.
Where have we heard all that before Julia?
This promise is exactly the same one Ms Gillard made when she stated that “no workers would be worse off” under her new industrial relations laws and as we now know this is not the case, evidenced by the flood of complaints from working Australians.
Ms Gillard consistently says one thing then does another.
She promised no workers would be worse off and they are, she promised union right of entry laws would not be changed and she massively expanded them.
Following the debacle her new laws created for young people wishing to work after school jobs, who have now been denied that right because she changed the rules, she promised to fix it and she hasn’t.
Despite her litany of broken promises there has not been one word from Ms Gillard, no recognition of her policy failures, no apology to the Australian people, nothing, just another hollow promise from the Deputy Prime Minister, another glib line fed to into Labor’s daily media spin cycle.
When things go pear shaped, instead of standing up and admitting failure and fixing the problems, Julia Gillard simply comes out with another line, another pathetic promise in an attempt to take the focus off the real issue which is Labor’s failure to deliver what it said it would to the Australian people.
Labor is all talk and no action and Julia Gillard cannot be trusted.
