Taxpayers lose millions because of Julia Gillard's failure to stop opportunistic union strikes
“In December last year I asked if Julia Gillard was incapable of reaching the same conclusion as striking postal workers who eventually called off their strike because it was deemed inappropriate opportunistic behaviour at Christmas time”.
“There was stony silence from the Deputy Prime Minister at the time and now it has been revealed that the strike action by the CEPU, which Julia Gillard refused to condemn, has cost the Australian Taxpayer 2.3 million dollars in lost revenue”.
“Ms Gillard’s failure to intervene in the CEPU dispute is a clear indication that Labor has given the green light to the Union movement to launch inappropriate industrial action at the expense of the Australian public”.
“Australia Post estimates the net cost impact of the industrial action by the CEPU to have been $2.3m and is made up as follows”.

“Ms Gillard needs to explain to the Australian people why her failure to intervene in this dispute has cost the Australian Taxpayer 2.3 million dollars and why her continued inaction to curb inappropriate behaviour by the Union movement has turned the industrial relations clock backwards at the expense of the Australian public”.
