"Senator Brown might believe the Coalition's proposal to create new dams aimed at doubling Australia's agricultural production is somehow a relic of the past," Senator Abetz said today.
"Senator Brown insists the Coalition should abandon its new dam creation proposal."
"The Coalition's plan would create thousands of jobs and significantly increase our Nation's food production and help drought proof Australia."
"Senator Brown cites "past battles" over dam construction in the 1980's. However this is the same Dr Bob Brown who, as director of the Tasmanian Wilderness Society in 1981, opposed a dam and favoured the construction of Coal Fired power stations in Tasmania."
"This is also the same Bob Brown who now believes coastal communities will all be underwater in 10 years because of coal mining."
"Senator Brown once advocated for the construction of Coal Fired power stations and now he wants to shut down the entire coal industry, destroying thousands of jobs in the process," Senator Abetz said.
"If Senator Brown's alarmist views are to be believed then perhaps we'd all better start building one of those 'other relics' just like Noah did."
"Of course the only problem is we won't have any timber to do it because, thanks to Senator Brown, he's also gone and shut down the renewable timber industry," Senator Abetz said.
