Yes, the Greens are Watermelons

“The Greens hijacking of the Legal and Constitutional References Committee with the support of their Labor Alliance partners have shown their true colours, they are watermelons, green on the outside and red on the inside,” Senator Abetz said today.

“Senator Brown needs to explain if he still believes that the number one issue his Party stands for is the environment or, as evidenced by their pursuit of the Chairmanship of the Legal and Constitutional References Committee, the Greens have turned their sights on social engineering.”

“When given the choice of which Committee the Greens should Chair they were offered the Environment Committee and voted against the proposal,” Senator Abetz said.

“Labor needs to take a serious look at how the Greens, with their tentacles now spreading into every aspect of Government, are manipulating Labor’s own policy agenda.”

“Given that the Greens were pre-empting today’s vote in the Senate by bragging about it in the media yesterday one wonders exactly what grubby little deal was done between Labor and the Greens which allowed this to occur?”

“Humiliatingly for Labor – Labor moved the motion for the Greens and voted with them.”

“The once proud ALP has now become the Greens ventriloquist doll,” Senator Abetz said.
