About Eric Abetz
Liberal Candidate for Franklin
A long time resident of Franklin and former government senate leader, Eric Abetz brings an unsurpassed blend of local knowledge and national experience to the Franklin Liberal Team.
Franklin is Eric’s home, having attended school, established his legal practice, raised a family (with his late wife Michelle) all within the electorate. His wide community involvement includes membership in many organisations including church, school, aged care, disability care, local community radio, local museum, Rotary and as a foundation member of the (Premiership) Kingborough Tigers. He is a genuine community contributor.
As a student he worked as a farmhand and taxi driver. He knows hard work.As a senator and leader he rightly earned the reputation of being an energetic and fearless fighter for Tasmanians, as well as a strong well researched straight talker.
Today, Eric runs a successful advisory consultancy beside serving on boards and as national campaign chair of the Australian Monarchist League -NO Republic campaign. He is a sought after commentator.
