A year of Trump
Today marks 12 months since President Donald Trump was sworn in.
While I haven’t always been a fan, his record of achievement is admirable having delivered a tax plan which has led to more than a million Americans getting a pay rise, millions of new jobs and consumer confidence and investment like never before - something that has completely trashed the socialist mantra that we often hear in Australia including ‘trickle-down economics doesn’t work’ and ‘capitalism is dead’.
On the world stage, the Trump Administration has held the UN to account, held the line on North Korea and backed the only free and democratic nation in the Middle East.
While there is much said and hyperventilated about, this is an admirable track record that provides great benefit to Australia as one of the closest and most trusted allies of the United States.
These objective facts need to be part of any honest commentary on President Trump’s first year in office.
