ABC must come clean over $692,000 salary for one person

Revelations today that an Executive within the ABC took home more than $692,319 in salary and bonuses in the last financial year requires a full and complete disclosure according to Liberal Senator Eric Abetz.

It has been revealed that a single employee was awarded a $232,500 bonus, taking their total salary for the year to $692,319.

“It is clear that the ABC is wallowing around in money when the executives can afford to pay one executive alone a quarter of a million dollars in bonuses. It is indicative of the ABC’s own deluded sense of self-worth,” Senator Abetz said.

“To be paying mid-level ABC bosses, with taxpayers money, significantly more than even what the Prime Minister is paid is inexcusable and must be fully justified.”

“The ABC must come clean and tell us who was paid this exorbitant sum and who authorised the payment.”

“While these kinds of exorbitant payments are being made, I never want to hear from the ABC or its supporters that it doesn’t have enough taxpayers’ money - it’s clear they have the money, it’s only a matter of priority,” Senator Abetz concluded.
