Either Shorten has lost control or he backs gender removal

Reports that the Labor Party’s National Conference yesterday passed a motion sponsored by Labor’s would-be Minister for Equality, to look at changing or removing gender from government documents, despite repeated claimed assurances from Bill Shorten, exposes that he has either lost control or secretly backs this radical agenda.

The motion, sponsored by Bill Shorten’s own so-called Shadow Assistant Minister for Equality, asks that a Labor Government have a taxpayer-funded review of whether “gender needs to be shown at all” on government documents and to “promote identification options beyond binary male and female”.

“The fact that Mr Shorten’s hand-picked Shadow Minister responsible for ‘equality’ moved this motion shows that either his words are hollow or that he is secretly behind this radical agenda to remove gender from government documents,” Senator Abetz said.

“If Mr Shorten is serious about opposing this nonsense, he must sack Senator Pratt from this role otherwise it will be clear to all that a Shorten Labor Government would have a Minister pushing this radical agenda. If he does not remove her, it is a clear endorsement of her actions as the responsible Shadow Minister.”

“Australians are rightly concerned that a Federal Green Labor Government would mean a radical push to the left including the removal of gender from society and this motion gives a scary insight into what could be in store if Bill Shorten ever became Prime Minister.”

“By contrast, the Liberals are completely opposed to removing gender from government documents and I am pleased that the Federal Government is considering ways to try and lock in the current arrangements,” Senator Abetz concluded.
