Federal Labor MP's must come clean today

Following days of silence, Tasmanians deserve to know where their Federal Labor Members and Senators stand on the Labor/Green plan to opt-in to gender.

Julie Collins, Ross Hart, Justine Keay, Brian Mitchell and Senators Bilyk, Brown, Polley, Singh and Urquhart must come clean today.

“This divisive plan that has been pushed by the Tasmanian Labor/Greens alliance has been completely rejected by the Tasmanian people and Tasmanians deserve to know whether the Tasmanian Labor Federal Members and Senators stand with Bec White or with them,” Senator Abetz said.

“It’s not good enough for each of the Labor Members and Senators to go to ground - they must be called out and fully explain their position:

  • Do they support opting in to having gender on birth certificates?
  • Do they believe gender should be removed from other government documents?
  • Will they be advocating to Federal Labor Leader Bill Shorten on behalf of Ms White and Ms O’Connor on this issue?”

“I look forward to each of the Federal Labor Members and Senators coming clean,” Senator Abetz concluded.
