Forced Redundancies at the ABS in Hobart
“Documents provided to the opposition (attached) show Labor’s financial waste has now led to the need to cut a 6 further jobs from the Australian Bureau of Statistics in Hobart,” Senator Abetz said today.
“The sad fact is that Labor’s legacy of waste is now catching up with the community.”
“With waste on detention centres, pink batt schemes, the Inter-Governmental agreement and the growing debt, cuts are now being made in essential areas like health and now even the Australian Bureau of Statistics which will see the demise of the Work Life and Family Survey and 6 jobs.”
“It tells you something about Labor’s values in 2013 when they axe the Work Life and Family Survey in favour of wasting money on closing down Tasmania’s renewable forest industry.”
“The Gillard Government has failed to provide the sound and prosperous economy that all Tasmanians deserve and need,” Senator Abetz said.
