Tasmanian Liberal Senator Eric Abetz has welcomed the signing of an agreement to deliver $70,000 for a demand study into the Geeves Effect wilderness precinct development proposal.
The funding has been committed under an agreement signed this week by Federal Tourism Minister Steven Ciobo and Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman.
“The signing of the delivery agreement between the Federal and Tasmanian Liberal Governments mean the exciting Geeves Effect project is on track to be delivered,” Senator Abetz said today.
“The Liberal Senate Team has been working closely with the Federal and Tasmanian Liberal Governments to ensure all of our election commitments are delivered and this is an important step towards this significant commitment being delivered.
“This important study could lead to a massive expansion of tourism into the Huon Valley.”
“This is just the latest example of the Tasmanian Liberal Senate Team working hand-in-glove with the Tasmanian Liberal Government to deliver for our state,” Senator Abetz concluded.
