Libs to preference Greens last and second last in Braddon

The Liberal Party will preference the green candidates last and second last in in the Braddon by-election, Senator Eric Abetz said today.

“The Greens are a destructive, anti-jobs force in Tasmania and therefore we will be putting them last on our how-to-votes”, Senator Abetz said.

“Given that the so-called Independent candidate Craig Garland has now confirmed his green credentials by stating yesterday he would preference the Greens* before any major parties, we will be putting him second last.”

“As has been noted, Mr Garland is as green as they come, opposing not just fish farming and forestry, but also wanting to lock-up the Tarkine.

”Senator Abetz said the remainder of the Liberals’ how-to-vote preferencing guide would be finalised over coming days prior to the opening of pre-poll on Tuesday, but confirmed that the Liberals would preference Labor ahead of the greens.

“My challenge to Labor today is this: will they also be putting the green candidates last and second last?”*”Independent candidate in the Braddon by-election Craig Garland has told the ABC his official preferences are 1. Shooters, Fishers and Farmers 2. Greens, 3. Labor 4 (last) Liberal…” Henry Zwartz tweet 6/7
