More Tasmanians in work

The Tasmanian unemployment rate has fallen again to 5.8%, now equal to the national employment rate – a massive reduction from the former unemployment rate of 8.1% which was achieved under Federal and State Green/Labor Governments.

“The close partnership between the Federal and State Liberal Governments is continuing to deliver real dividends with a major 2.3 point reduction in the Tasmanian unemployment rate since the Federal Liberal Government came to office,” Senator Abetz said today.

“The unemployment rate has been steadily heading in the right direction for the last three years and comes as a direct result of the positive policies implemented by Liberal Governments in Canberra and in Hobart.”

“There’s still more to do and the Tasmanian Liberal Senate Team will continue to advance Tasmania’s interests.”

“The single biggest threat to this positive job creation record is a return of Green/Labor Governments both Federally and in Tasmania which would destroy jobs and return to the bad old days,” Senator Abetz concluded.
