Plibersek must commit to backing Government’s tax cuts
Deputy Labor Leader Tanya Plibersek must commit to supporting the Government’s income tax plan that will benefit more than 39,200 taxpayers in Braddon in her visit to the North West today.
“The Liberals are delivering tax relief for low and middle income earners from 1 July and Labor voted in Parliament to halve the value of the personal income tax plan. This means $70 billion of higher taxes on working Australians.” Senator Abetz said.
“Ms Plibersek must today commit to the Federal Government’s Personal Income Tax plan in full from passing the Parliament to support low and middle income earning Tasmanians. Any Labor-Green obstruction in the Senate will see Tasmanians losing out.”
“Labor and the Greens want Australians to pay higher taxes, for one simple reason: they want to spend it. Only the Liberal and National Parties can be trusted to keep taxes under control, because we are committed to keeping spending under control.”
“Ms Plibersek’s latest visit once again highlights that while Labor might try and talk a big game, only Brett Whiteley and the Tasmanian Liberal Senate Team can actually deliver for Tasmanians because Labor aren’t in office,” Senator Abetz concluded.
