Roads to Recovery Bonus for Kingborough Council
The Federal Liberal Government's Roads to Recovery Program has delivered an extra $596,102 bonus to the Kingborough Council that ensures a total of almost $3 million over the next five years for road projects within the Kingborough municipality.
Local Liberal Senator Eric Abetz said it is important that the Federal Government continue to provide the support for local government in the provision of vital infrastructure such as roads and I’m very pleased that my lobbying for extra funding for Kingborough has paid dividends.
The Roads to Recovery Program makes a valuable contribution to safety, economic and social outcomes through supporting maintenance of the nation’s roads.
In welcoming the extra funding, Mayor Dean Winter said one of the first roads to benefit would be Talone Road in Blackmans Bay which is well overdue for a re-build.
“Through good economic management, the Government has been able to increase the allocation for the Roads to Recovery Program nationwide and the residents of Kingborough are the beneficiaries of almost $3 million over the next five years,” Senator Abetz said.
