Tasmanian Liberal Senate team welcomes new Vice-Chancellor
The Tasmanian Liberal Senate team welcomes the appointment of Professor Rufus Black as the next Vice-Chancellor of the University of Tasmania.
Senator Abetz said “Professor Black has a distinguished background with Bachelor degrees in Law and Politics and a degree in moral theology from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. His mix of academic and commercial experience makes him well placed to further the strong work of the university in learning, research and investment.”
Senator Bushby said “the Tasmanian Liberal Senate team looks forward to working closely with Professor Black as the vision for the Launceston City deal becomes a reality”.
“The University is an important and valued state institution with an exciting future ahead. We welcome Professor Black to Tasmania and look forward to seeing him take the university into the next stage of growth and investment” concluded Senator Duniam.
