The Hon. John Lloyd PSM
I regret the announcement from the Hon. John Lloyd PSM that he will leave his role as the Australian Public Service Commissioner in August.
John Lloyd is an extraordinarily experienced public servant, having served multiple State and Federal Governments in senior roles including as a Deputy Secretary in the Howard Government, as a Senior Deputy President of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission, as the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner and as the Victorian Red Tape Commissioner.
In my time as the Public Service Minister, Mr Lloyd was highly effective in ensuring the public service was a more efficient and effective body that taxpayers could have confidence in. His diligent work assisted the Government to reduce the size of government while ensuring a high calibre of service to the Australian public continued to be delivered.
Over and above his highly competent work as the Commissioner, John is also a thoroughly decent person and someone who deserves great credit for having dedicated so much of his life to the service of our nation.
I am sorry to see him go and wish him all the very best for the future.
